How to Use Your Gentleness as Your Strength - Strong.
Gentleness is typically regarded as something that is weak, mild or nonassertive. But when we consider that it is a result (“fruit”) of God’s Holy Spirit being active in our lives and that being gentle requires the strength of self-control, thoughtfulness, tact and concern—we see it in an entirely different way.The nine attributes of fruit of the Spirit, spelled out in Galatians 5: 22-23 are absolutely key to understanding God’s perspective of what we ought to be. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.Kindness is an act of compassion, humanity, love, concern and sympathy. Kindness is worship, kindness is religion. Kindness is a behaviour that spreads joy, joy that has no borders, joy that is universal. And its relevance in modern day and every day can’t be discounted.
Gentleness is often confused with meekness and Meekness is translated to weakness. Webster defines Gentleness as 1. being Considerate, kindly and tender. 2.Gentleness is the virtue of doing your good with the least possible harm to others. It is the decision to approach others from a stance of love—or at least benevolence—rather than indifference, or worse. Gentleness is courage without violence, strength without harshness, and love without anger.
The make a man gentleman. Gentleness and good manners go together. The made man polite, civilized and well behaved. Without good manners, much of the charm of life be lost.
